Tender chicken coated in a glossy, sweet-and-tangy honey lemon glaze with hints of garlic and ginger. A quick, flavorful dinner that’s always a hit.
1.5 lbs chicken thighs or breasts, cut into pieces
2 tbsp cornstarch
Salt & pepper
2–3 tbsp oil for cooking
1/3 cup honey
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
Zest of 1 lemon
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp grated fresh ginger (optional)
Red pepper flakes, sesame seeds, scallions (optional)
Toss chicken with cornstarch, salt, and pepper.
Mix honey, lemon juice, zest, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger in a small bowl.
Sear chicken in oil over medium-high heat until browned and cooked through.
Remove chicken; pour sauce into pan and simmer 2–3 minutes.
Return chicken and coat in glaze. Simmer 2–3 more minutes.
Garnish and serve over rice or noodles.
For thicker sauce, add a cornstarch slurry. Add chili flakes for heat. Best with fresh lemon juice and zest.
